Life Science Warm-Up
As an exercise major, I feel that this sort of resource could be used for many different classes. We have to take classes, such as Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, as well as simpler classes such as Biology. In all of these classes the studens partake in labs that reinforce what they learned in the class. If I were a teacher of one of these classes, I would definitely make this resource available to my students. Many students learn by seeing and being able to relate what they are learning to what they already know. Everyone has some idea of how their own body works, so if they can see the inside of their bodies, they can then relate the pictures to themselves and what they are learning in these classes. When a student can see how something actually looks inside the body, it helps them understand the processes and information better. I would use this in a classroom for the students to study off of, I could use the pictures in the class on an overhead or powerpoint so that I can point out certain things to them that they need to know, and the pictures can also be used in a lab where the students might not be able to actually see a real human body.
I have had resources available to me such as this and they are extremely helpful in studying and learning what is going on with the body. Putting the pictures together with the information helps the information that is learned in the classroom “stick” much more effectively.
